Opportunity for DISCO Students – Application for the MIOB Journalism Lab at Palić Film Festival

The European Festival Network Moving Images – Open Borders (MIOB) is inviting students and recent graduates in cinema, journalism, and related fields to apply for an exclusive opportunity in cinema journalism training. The MIOB Lab is dedicated to cultivate the next generation of cultural journalists, offering free, hands-on training at European film festivals.

In response to the evolving landscape of cinema journalism, MIOB recognizes the unique voices emerging in today’s new generation of critics and cinema journalists, who bring fresh perspectives and writing styles to the field. This program offers selected participants a unique, cost-free experience: guided, personalized mentorship with leading experts in cultural journalism, combined with immersive, practical experience at top film festivals across Europe.

Up to 6 candidate will be selected to participate to ON-SITE TRAINING at 32nd European Film Festival Palić (Serbia): 5 days, 6 nights between 20 – 26 July 2025.

MIOB will cover travel expenses, accommodation and festival accreditation, thanks to the Creative Europe Media Program grant. The selected participants will create content during the festivals, including interviews with film crews and organizational teams.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Under 32 years old;
  • Passion about cinema and culture;
  • A university degree or a university student;
  • Proficient in written and spoken English;
  • Provable experience of cultural articles, especially film-related articles in any format: print, video, audio or online media or other creative form of a daily report or Q&A events.
